For our clients that already have their own hosting, we will act as your proxy in dealing with your existing hosting company, if you prefer.

This means that we deal with all the complicated stuff related to setting up hosting for your website and tech support issues related to the visibilty of your site.

We can act on your behalf with your current hosting company’s tech support

This is by far the item which takes up almost as much of our time as designing websites. Simply put – most hosting company tech support personnel do not care if your website is up or down. They mostly care about following procedure. They are sorry that your site has disappeared right when your latest email blast has gone out, but there is nothing they can do. We know what to say and do to get around roadblocks like this.

Set-up hosting accounts

Hosting providers have always tried to make setting up a domain & hosting account a user friendly process. Unfortunately, some of them try to sell you things you don’t really need along the way. Most folks don’t know the difference between a domain name account and a hosting account, a windows and a linux server, an economy and a business package when they sign up, and this lack of knowledge can come back to bite. Here is a good tip – never register your domain name with your hosting company. Use two separate services for each.

Set-up domain accounts

Before you can have a site, you need a domain name. We will help you choose the right domain name for your site. We can advise you on which registrar to choose, or you can leave all this for us to sort out.

Assign domain nameservers at the registrar

Once you have a domain name and a website you have to make sure the world will see it correctly. Glitches in this process can and do happen.

Check server performance daily

Sites always seem to go down on Friday evenings! We will be working directly with the tech team to get your site back up, usually before you even know there is a problem. Server uptime has been between 99 -100% on hosting servers at our datacenters.

Set up and maintain email accounts

This is another step that our clients could do on their own through each site’s CPanel admin panel. Most prefer to let us set up their accounts for them.

Set up local email software to access domain mail

Sometimes new security measures make it impossible to access email. We appreciate that it is sometimes difficult to maintain multiple email accounts.
